Special circumstances such as those of the pandemic make it possible: this year, the 13th Illustre Gestalten exhibition is showing works created especially for the open-air theme not in but in front of the Centralstation in the Carreehof. Each of the 33 artists understands what this means in his or her own way. It is not an easy task to create a image with its finger on the pulse of time. But it is clearly visible: the resulting works come from deep within the nooks and crannies of this year's illustrators.
We can be curious about how illustration art can depict and perhaps even influence these strange times and their discourses. Crisis as opportunity - this is definitely true for this exhibition!
